Spaces for teaching and learning

The department is located in two contiguous buildings on RISD’s architecture and design corridor. Our location at 345 South Main Street houses faculty and administrative offices and includes a conference room and collaborative learning space that serves as a seminar room and home research space for grad students.

The TLAD+POD Studio Lab at 355 South Water Street – a converted storefront along the Providence River – provides multipurpose space. It serves as the central hub for Project Open Door – RISD’s college access program for creative teens attending urban public schools – along with a curriculum teaching studio and home studio workspaces for grad students.
