Dean Robinson earned his BFA from RISD and a degree in mechanical engineering from Florida Atlantic University. He patented his folding table design and launched his company, Snappy Tables, in 2008. He is also owner of Product Design Development, a consulting firm that provides design and engineering services for consumer product commpanies in the marine, toy, medical, furniture, architecture and packaging industries. Robinson has been teaching at RISD since 2003.
