Evelyn Eastmond

Evelyn Eastmond is a coder and artist interested in the elegance of coding as a way to describe complex software systems and in painting as a way to describe a personal, visual language. She also works on open source creative coding toolkits that aim to elevate computer programming to the role of artistic medium by making coding more approachable, tinker-able and intuitive.

Eastmond earned a BS at MIT in 2005 and an MFA at RISD in 2012. In addition to teaching at RISD, her professional experience includes working as a software research engineer in the Communications Design Group at SAP. She was awarded a 2013 RISD 2050 Grant and has lectured in NYC, Santa Fe, Boston and Pittsburgh.
