Harmon Siegel

Harmon Siegel is a doctoral candidate in the history of art at Harvard. His dissertation, Monet and Other People, addresses Monet’s practice of painting side-by-side with other artists to reframe fundamental issues in impressionism. Publications include articles The Black Wallpaper: Louise Nevelson’s Gothic Modernism (Art Bulletin), Carl Schmitt, Herman Melville and the Politics of Images, (Telos, forthcoming 2019) and Melvin Edwards Decides (American Art, forthcoming 2020), as well as an essay in Smoke, Ashes, Fable, Kentridge in Bruges.
