Heather Rowe

Heather Rowe is an artist based in Brooklyn who received an MFA from Columbia University in 2001. She has exhibited in numerous museums and galleries including PS1/MoMA; the Indianapolis Museum of Art; the Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH; UMMA/University of Michigan Museum of Art, Ann Arbor, MI; Galerie Zink, Berlin, Germany; D’Amelio Terras, NYC; Michael Benevento Gallery, Los Angeles; Ballroom Marfa [TX]; Andrea Rosen, NYC; White Columns, NYC; and Artists Space, NYC. Rowe’s work was featured in the 2008 Whitney Biennial and she presented her first large-scale solo outdoor project at Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City, NY in 2013. Recent shows include Third Girl at Lucien Terras, NYC, and Performing the Grid at Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. Her work has been featured in Artforum, Modern Painters, The New York Times, Art in America, The New Yorker and Art Review among others. Prior to joining the Sculpture faculty at RISD, Rowe has taught at various institutions including Harvard University, Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Cooper Union, Rutgers University, Brooklyn College, as well as in RISD’s Painting Department.
