Jerry Mischak

In addition to teaching at RISD, Jerry Mischak teaches sculpture and 3D design at the University of Rhode Island. He encourages his students to work outside, using raw materials and natural elements. Mischak creates colorful sculptures inspired in part by the work of Franz West and Robert Rauschenberg. He was awarded the Howard Foundation Fellowship in 2001 and the Rhode Island State Council of the Arts Fellowship in 2003. His work has been reviewed by The New York Times, the New Yorker, Time Out, CNN, the Washington Post and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung. He is represented in New York by Jim Kempner Fine Art.
