Jeung-Hwa Park

Jeung-Hwa Park is a full-time studio textile artist who attends highly recognized fine craft shows as well as museum and gallery exhibitions both nationally and internationally. She studied fashion design and worked for Kolon Sportswear Company in Korea as a designer. During her early days in America she took photographs of current trends in New York and Boston to send to Korean fashion magazines and fashion trend forecast companies as a fashion reporter. Her return to school as a textiles major at RISD was an effort to combine apparel with textiles—to integrate fashion with the fabric that is its basis.

Park has earned numerous awards and her work is included in significant permanent collections, including those of the Museum of Arts and Design (NYC), the Museum of Fine Arts (Boston), Fidelity Investments (Rhode Island) and Kwangju International Biennale (Korea).
