Michael Scimeca

Michael Scimeca received his Bachelor’s Degree from Providence College in 1980. He worked for four years as a model maker at A&M Models in Massachusetts and two years in the engineering model shop at Hasbro Toys while taking evening courses in the RISD/CE Technical Illustration program. He received his Master of Industrial Design degree from RISD in 1990 and, while a graduate student, was a teaching assistant in RISD/CE. Upon graduation he became the technician in the Industrial Design Model Shop where he continues to serve and to teach classes in RISD/CE. He has done extensive freelance model-making and industrial design, taught model-making in the Industrial Design department for 14 years and has taught the ID Graduate Shop Experience class since 2001.
