Sissi Westerberg

Sissi Westerberg engages with a range of fields, including conceptual jewelry, sculpture, design, video and installation. Her primary focus is on gender and the relationship between nature, utilitarian objects and the female body. In recent years, her work has been focused on site-dependent projects and a series of large-scale, public commissions. Since 2009, she has served as co-director of Rejmyre Art Lab’s Centre for Peripheral Studies, which brings together craft practitioners and artists from other fields for thematic residencies in the rural glass factory town of Rejmyre, Sweden. She earned an MFA in Metal Craft from Konstfack University College of Arts Crafts and Design in Stockholm.

Westerberg has exhibited her work in solo shows at Rooster Gallery in New York as well as Uppsala Konstmuseum , Eskilstuna konstmuseum, Östergötlands Museum and Galleri Platina in Sweden and in numerous group exhibitions in Europe and the rest of the world. Her work is represented at The National Museum in Stockholm and The National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design in Oslo, Norway.
