Artists and gallery owners Terry Seaman 69 PT and Heidi Seidelhuber 70 PT are hosting two wonderful, concurrent exhibitions at Studio 53 Fine Art Gallery in Boothbay Harbor, ME.
Both are large, comprehensive retrospectives featuring work by the late and well-loved RISD professors Robert Hamilton 39 PT (left) and Gerry Immonen (below). Both artists live on in the hearts and minds of countless alumni who studied with them, including Seaman and Seidelhuber, who remain blown away by the impact each painter made on the art world.
“His vision is like no one else’s that I’ve ever seen,” wrote the late Professor Emeritus Richard Merkin MFA 64 PT (a creative giant in his own right) of Hamilton. “His picture are – to borrow a phrase from Charles Demuth – “the nth whoopee of sight.”
Fifty remarkable paintings by each artist are on view at Studio 53 gallery through June 26. Smaller retrospectives of 15 paintings each will then be featured from June 28 through October 9.
