Furniture Design students have access to a range of state-of-the-art design and production resources, including:

• An extensive wood studio with hand and power tools
• A metal shop with welding and fabrication equipment
• A metals machine shop
• An upholstery lab
• A plastics/alternative materials lab
• A finishing spray booth
• A veneer and rare woods collection
• A laser cutter, Rapid Prototype Machine (RPM) and CNC router, through the Shared Technologies Initiative
• Computer lab workstations running SolidWorks, Rhino, Adobe Suite and a range of other design software

Entering sophomores are required to buy a laptop as specified by the department.
