Christopher Specce

Christopher Specce is a designer based in Providence, RI and Brooklyn, NY. A graduate of RISD, Specce has accumulated a diverse range of professional experiences, including installing the Hall of Ocean Life at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City and working with renowned designers Ayse Birsel and Bibi Seck. His experience designing consumer products ranges from the commercial furniture and automotive industries to personal care and stationery for such clients as Herman Miller, Renault, Target, P&G and HP. Specce’s work has been featured in publications including The New York Times, Wallpaper and Metropolis and has been exhibited at Matter, the RISD Museum and Rivington Arms. He is an affiliated designer with Kaiju Studios, a Providence-based design services firm where he co-designed the Aira Desk and Media Cabinet, one of Herman Miller’s first new residential furnishings products in more than a decade. As an independent designer, Specce’s approach examines how production, materials and utility mediate the status of objects in our culture.
